Dr Melanie Archer (VIFM) is a forensic entomology expert specializing in crime scene analysis and postmortem interval estimation. With a career deeply rooted in forensic science, she brings a unique perspective to her litigation work, informed by her extensive experience in insect evidence collection and analysis. Her work centers on investigating insect activity at crime scenes, assessing postmortem intervals, and evaluating whether insect evidence aligns with other forensic findings.

Dr Archer has been retained in numerous expert witness and consulting engagements across various jurisdictions, involving criminal investigations and legal disputes where insect evidence is pivotal. Her PhD in Forensic Entomology, along with her BSc(Hons1), reinforce her ability to deliver objective, defensible analyses.
